Umrah is a religious pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims as a supererogatory act of worship.

The significance of Umrah in Islam lies in its spiritual rewards and the opportunity it provides for the purification of sins and seeking forgiveness from Allah. It is a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and a highly recommended act of worship for Muslims, bringing them closer to their Creator.

Any Muslim who is financially and physically capable can undertake Umrah; however, completing this pilgrimage is not mandatory.

Under Islamic law, a 17-year-old male is recognized as a Mahram (unmarriageable relative) for his mother, sister, and other close female relatives concerning undertaking Umrah (the minor pilgrimage to Mecca).

Umrah is a Sunnah in Islam, not a Farz (mandatory) act of worship.
